Greater Smithfield-Selma Area, Chamber Women's Business Network (CWBN), 2018 Conference.
Bridging the Gap - Leverage and Leadership in a Changing World. March 9, 2018.
This years conference was marvelous as always. Celebrating women with an spirited and interactive program that included both networking and great fellowship. The theme was "Bridging the Gap" - finding ways to do this as well as acknowledge it. I thoroughly enjoyed both speakers as they were both passionate and inspiring.
The keynote speaker, Sonia Aranza, had an upbeat (literally, it did have music) presentation titled, "Bridging the Gap" reflected about the power of self leadership - mind your blind spots. With out giving to much away, broke down the stigma and labels of each generation and how to take account of this and in personal, in turn perhaps... bridge your own gap and to be mindful of the people you are working with or around.
The encore speaker, Pamela Tripp, MED, MSOM, and CEO of CommWell - shared a wonderful and entertaining presentation titled, "Blind Spot of Professional Women". And it also included a generational aspect from years ago to present day. Women entering the workforce and their "spot" as a professional touching an array of topics that I don't think I can list in a few sentences.
The 2018 conference was wonderfully eyeopening, entertaining, and informational and just as last year, I am looking forward to the next one.
