Hello my friends! I was browsing Downtown Smithfield yesterday with camera in tow and I snapped a few shots of Howell Theatre. While I was out, I bumped into a fellow neighbor on the street and we both mentioned the Theatre and had some small talk about this virus (that shall remain nameless). So, when I got home, I plopped in my computer chair and looked them up on facebook. Low-and-behold a post, just a few hours prior was posted... About how they had received several requests from their patrons regarding how they can assist in donating to the Theatre for the updates and repairs for the building.
I thought how interesting the timing was that I thought of them just earlier and felt compelled to visit. Even though it was just as an onlooker. I've embedded their gofundme page information below, click and it will take you directly to the page. And just as Bill from the theater says, "If you can't make a donation, it would be great if you could share the fundraiser to help spread the word." So, this is me doing my best to spread the word because my family and I find much delight in going and watching movies at the Howell Theatre. We've seen countless movies there and my daughter even met up with friends for her birthday one year (see pics below)! It's truly a Smithfield staple.
Bill, I hope the Howell will be here 85 more years!
